lots of things to cover

August 25, 2024

hello everyone

this is, whoa, i don't even know where to start. for the past few weeks, there's been a lot of hectic, problematic stuff happening in my life and on social media, especially on twitter (still twitter to me, i don't fuck with x)

let us began, shall we?

nah

let’s start with my current routine. as you might know, i began teaching at my brother's high school for four months. i swear, i haven't been doing well these past weeks because i'm having a nervous breakdown and i'm not ready for it. i’m not ready to teach, and i swear that after i graduate, i will look for another career outside of teaching because, honestly, i just hate every single part of it. i'm not getting used to it.

but archie, isn’t it a rudimentary task from your uni to perform as a teacher? shouldn’t you be happy about it?

nah

like i mentioned in previous posts, we might not know what’s going to happen around august, right? :(

tomorrow is the day i start repeating the same cycle again, teaching the same class for about three more months. august to november feels like a year to me. i want to graduate so badly and finally do something i really enjoy :(

that's about my pathetic life. now let's jump to the actual thing, which is:

this is me quoting from @NotJustEurope on twitter.

in february of 2024, indonesia held their presidential election that generated controversy. the son of the current president ran alongside the one of the candidates (general named prabowo subianto) as vice president. this was illegal as you had be older then 40 in indonesia to run and he was 36. this would result in a battle in the constitutional courts on lowering the age minimum to 35 which would just barely make him eligible. this itself didn’t go through, but they did amend it so if you held other political offices before, you could run. he was a mayor so he could run.

now this is not the cause of the riot itself as this happened a bit ago already, just a major point of context. to also note, he did end up winning that race with 58% of vote. now we move onto the second son of the current president, kaesang. the current president of indonesia had already chosen a candidate to run for the Jakarta governatorial election made up of 12 different political parties, though the one of the biggest indonesian political party, the pdip, wasn’t in yet.

two days ago, the constitutional court changed the law on the governmental elections. two main points come from this: 1. any political party with 7.5% of last elections vote can submit a candidate and 2. set the minimum age of 30 years old at submission date

this was really popular! it reformed for a lot more proper democratic function in a country that had been struggling for a couple of years… but then it was challenged. the current president called the house of reps to alter this law, though any court ruling should be final.

so essentially, to summarize all of this at once: the current president of indonesia altered the constitution multiple times so that his family could hold more political power and ignored the courts. this all has led to rioting by the citizens of indonesia who want fair democracy

and fyi the 'youngest president's son' and his wife are at pennsylvania now. yeah they're trying to escape from everything they've done. fucking bitch ass...

starting from now, it is a rudimentary to say the name "mulyono" instead of jokowi because apparently that's his birth name

i'm done. i want to escape from this country so badly

i really do...

somebody please help me :(
